Re: Lab device
Have this same issue as Sipart so he's not the only one. Some of my network nodes (not all) always move out of place after closing lab and reopening it. It's just that I've not complained because like he pointed out this is a very slick tool and it's also free. Can't beat that. I just put the nodes back where the belong and move on.

Re: Lab device
Glad I am not alone (well I'm not really).
Update:
I have updated my home bare metal server to V70 (and gone through all the steps suggested) - no difference - I noticed that even once I move the objects into the correct place and lock the lab (which prompts a lab save) and visually it looks fine BUT pulling the .unl file (before I close the lab) and looking at the co-ordinates they are not reflective of whats on screen. And once closed and opened they have indeed moved.
I removed the text boxes in case they were causing some issues - I can get server03 in my lab to stay in place now - but the mgmt-net-dc and other ztp objects still jump around.
So I deleted the mgmt-net-dc and added a new one (called mgmt-net-dcent) and when the lab refreshes it jumps - move it back in place and then connect a device and it jumps down - move it back and connect another device and it jumps. I also moved the cluster of 3 ztp devices to the left and high up but they jump back down further than the original position. See current lab screeshot below.
Added video:
https://youtu.be/y5gFPO1m53s (where leaf02 has got caught up in the mix)
On the EVE website "Knows (known) issues" it says:
Cheers

So is the issue I have related in some way?jQuery issues:
In a Lab selecting few nodes, when unzoomed, will also select shapes that are not int the area of selection
Moving nodes/objects not synced with mouse after right/left click in unzoomed Lab
Adding nodes/obj, when unzoomed, are not properly positioned on Lab canvas
In general zoom is not very friendly with the lab editing - moving, connecting, creating nodes.
General issues:
Overlapping objects, nodes and txt are not well selected - select needed things with ctrl+click and not mouse hover
When multiple nodes selected, they can be moved by a none selected text or shape object. That will not give any error, but will not save further movements. Lab/Page refresh fixes that.
Cheers

Re: Lab device
Such annoyance is observed using zoom / unzoom , and fast move.
You really need a good link quality. Packet dropping and/or having network latencies could brings such trouble...

Re: Lab device
I doesn't seem to be related to the network, this is my current situation:
1) Eve running on ESXi on the cloud
- no problem using my MacBook with safari or Firefox
- topology messed up using any windows (7) laptop regardless of the browser
2) Eve locally installed on a windows server (2008 r2) running Vmware player
- no problem using my MacBook with safari or Firefox and a remote connection
- topology messed up using a local connection with any browser
From windows clients, the only solution is to enter manually the coordinate for each object.
In the above situation I'm using different topology, even starting from scratch with 4 or 5 devices.

Re: Lab device
Firefox works in the same way on OSX, Linux or Windows
So this issue could be due to "something" between browser an EVE....
-Network
-Proxy
-Antivirus
What else ?
Check those points....

Re: Lab device
Look I'm not moaning but there seems to be several users with the same issue. I am happy to accept its my lab but I have provided lots of info (video, screen caps', contents of the lab file with the messed up co-ordinates) - I use EVE on two bare metal severs and two separate PCs using VMARE WS and player - no latency or network issues connecting to the EVE (I would say network latency or issues connecting to VMware WS or player would have to be very rare!) - I only have the issue with ONE large lab no other lab has issues with devices moving. All the EVEs are up to date and working fine in all other respects.
So I can confidently say that no network issues exists, no proxy and antivirus?? Why would antivirus cause one lab to have devices move but no other?
I don't even get the issue when zooming in and out - if I leave zoom completely stock then I get the issue (see the video - https://youtu.be/y5gFPO1m53s )
Cheers

Re: Lab device
Nice video
Use unzoom before moving such object.
E.
PS: I did the same test and was unable to reproduce your issue....
You can open the browser console to see logging...

Re: Lab device
I have the same issue even on a local device without any antivirus installed. It looks like the problem could be Windows 7 / Windows server 2008. I have'nt any version 10 to test this with.
