I have downloaded the community edition and tried to setup a proposed network to try things out. all worked well until I added a couple of new switches that emulated real kit that exists (so to this end I wanted to reuse my automation deployment so made sure the devices had correct number of ethernet ports eg 32 or 56. I then cannot start the devices with such large number of ports (they are cumulus vx). I tried such number of ports as vyos and linux and had the same issue. you click start and it tries and then just seems to stop.
I can make it work with 24 ports but going to 26 seems to fail.
finding issue is difficult.
I did manage to get to a console at the right time and see the following
no slot/function available for virtio-net-pci
from the looks of things it seems there might a limit on the number of pci devices, as i found a mention on the web for issues with qemu/kvm with >30 pci devices and looking at this with a 24 ports in eve-ng reprts 30 pci devices inside
Is this a community edition issue?
Is there a work around/fix?
limitation on number of ethernet interfaces (24 ports)???

Re: limitation on number of ethernet interfaces (24 ports)???
I have the same issue on Dell OS10 s4000 switch. If I run a show interfaces status. It shows 54 ports but if I select more that 26 ports in the Node configuration the Node will not start.
Any thoughts?

Re: limitation on number of ethernet interfaces (24 ports)???
I've run into the same problem on community edition (2.0.3-112), on a VyOS 1.3.0-epa2 image with 52 ports.
Can't get into a console as it dies too quickly and I can't find any logs on the host.
If I drop the number of ports to 24 it starts fine.
