Deleting images to free up space

Post by irbk » Thu Aug 17, 2023 5:58 pm

I've a few images that I've put into my eve-ng CE. Some of them don't work and I want to remove them from the eve-ng environment to free up the disk space. Do I just WinSCP into the EVE-NG server and delete the bad image folder from the /opt/unetlab/addons/qemu folder and EVE will recover that space? Or is there something special I have to do to let eve know I've deleted the image?

You have to read EVE CE cookbook how to create templates and images
Chapter 12

Thanks for the reply but I'm not looking to CREATE, I want to DELETE ones that I've already created that don't work. I'm assuming I just delete them from the /quemu folder but I wanted to make sure there wasn't anything special that needed to be done before deleting them.

Sorry, I wasn't asking about making new ones; rather, I was hoping to get rid of the ineffective ones I'd already made. I'm guessing I can simply delete them from the /quemu folder, but I wanted to double-check that I didn't miss anything. wordle today
