Clone Topology and Settings

Post by mega » Thu May 11, 2017 5:56 pm

Hello how are you,

I'm trying to clone a topology with IOL (L2 and L3) along with the previous configurations. But it shows me an error.

They could give me the steps to clone a topology along with the configurations.

Hi Ramindia,

I saw the video, but in my case I happen to the following:

Attach topology topology eve-ng.

1.- When cloning the topology the configurations are not partially cloned or cloned.

-The R1 and R2 routers perfectly clone the initial configurations.
-Routers R3 and R4 only clone the IPs of the interfaces.
-Switches SW1, SW2 and SW3 do not clone any of the initial configurations.

I do not know if it is an EVE bug, my version is the most recent 2.0.3-60.

Tks!

Just cloned some labs and works perfectly.
Only what I can imagine is that you did not right exported configs on R3,4
Switch vlan config export is a bit tricky, it does not export vlan.dat file.
ut if to use vtp mode transparent, then all your vlans will be exported and switch will boot nice with all vlans

Is there an efficient methold to grab the vlan.dat file? I'm working with a lab between my office and home. As I update at one location, I export then re-import into the other. This lab is part of a lengthy workbook that utilizes VTP in server mode. Is there an efficient way to copy the vlan.dat file to the eve-ng server filesytem so it can be copied out?

BTW, EVE-NG is a most excellent product! Great work!

The only work around is to move to vtp mode transparent....
