Post by Scorz » Sun Apr 07, 2019 1:53 pm

Hi

I just power up ONE vSRX router in eve.
For some reason all the ge/x/x/x interfaces on this route are up even nothing is configured or connected to these interface.
root@vSRX-1> show interfaces terse
Interface Admin Link Proto Local Remote
ge-0/0/0 up up
gr-0/0/0 up up
ip-0/0/0 up up
lsq-0/0/0 up up
lt-0/0/0 up up
mt-0/0/0 up up
sp-0/0/0 up up
sp-0/0/0.0 up up inet
inet6
sp-0/0/0.16383 up up inet
ge-0/0/1 up up
ge-0/0/2 up up
ge-0/0/3 up up
ge-0/0/4 up up

why I see all interface as connected and how can I fix it?

10xs for the advice

I guess you simply dont know how virtual machines working!
Virtual machines has no layer 1 at all, therefore you will never see up/down
only up/up
or down/down

I have vm machine that is configured as router on esx 6.5 but on the none used interface its show these interfaces as down (and I understand there is not L1) so I don't understand you comment.
if what you say is correct then why on my Router install as VM on ESX sever I don't have this?

dont mess assigned interfaces on EVE with non added on vm,
on KVM it is absolutelly normal behave.
KVM virtualization is a bit diff way than VM ware
