Post by Chris929 » Thu Jul 20, 2017 9:10 am

Using the ESX-Version of EVE I noticed, that the File vmware-vmsvc.log gets 2 Entries every 30 seconds:

root@eve-ng:/opt/unetlab/data/Logs# cat /var/log/vmware-vmsvc.log

[Jul 20 11:09:38.985] [ message] [vmsvc] GuestInfoAddNicEntry: NIC limit (64) reached, skipping overflow.
[Jul 20 11:09:38.993] [ message] [vmsvc] RecordRoutingInfoIPv6: route limit (100) reached, skipping overflow.
[Jul 20 11:10:08.984] [ message] [vmsvc] GuestInfoAddNicEntry: NIC limit (64) reached, skipping overflow.
[Jul 20 11:10:08.991] [ message] [vmsvc] RecordRoutingInfoIPv6: route limit (100) reached, skipping overflow.
[Jul 20 11:10:38.985] [ message] [vmsvc] GuestInfoAddNicEntry: NIC limit (64) reached, skipping overflow.
[Jul 20 11:10:38.995] [ message] [vmsvc] RecordRoutingInfoIPv6: route limit (100) reached, skipping overflow.
[Jul 20 11:11:08.985] [ message] [vmsvc] GuestInfoAddNicEntry: NIC limit (64) reached, skipping overflow.
[Jul 20 11:11:08.995] [ message] [vmsvc] RecordRoutingInfoIPv6: route limit (100) reached, skipping overflow.
[Jul 20 11:11:38.987] [ message] [vmsvc] GuestInfoAddNicEntry: NIC limit (64) reached, skipping overflow.
[Jul 20 11:11:38.995] [ message] [vmsvc] RecordRoutingInfoIPv6: route limit (100) reached, skipping overflow.

However everything seems to work fine - does anyone know, what this is and does anyone know if this can be ignored or not?

Regards
Chris

okay - thanks.
However - do you know what skipping overflow actually means?
Just curious.
