Suggestions for a solid home lab server

Post by dubzie@me.com » Wed Apr 01, 2020 9:48 pm

Hi all,

I’d like some suggestions for a solid 32 gb ram server for home labs, looking to lab ASAv to vSRX, also vMX and vQFX.

I’ve only used “real hardware” at work but it’s getting harder and harder to get the time to study there.

Appreciate any time you take to reply, thanks in advance!

I'm using a Intel NUC10i7 for bare metal installation with 64 GB RAM and 1 TB NVME. It is very energy efficient compared to servers.

For bigger LABs i'm using AMD 3950x with 128 GB RAM and 2 TB NVME (again bare metal).
