Simple question: is EVE-ng open source? And if so, where can I download the source?
I couldn't find it browsing the eve-ng.net website, nor on github (apart from the linux client add-ons)
Many thanks... Brian.

Re: Is EVE-ng open source?
Thanks, but are you sure that's the same thing?
At http://www.eve-ng.net/index.php/documentation/changelog it shows many releases to eve-ng since 5th Jan 2017. But the repo you pointed to has only six commits since Jan 2017. The string "eve-ng" doesn't appear anywhere within it, and the tags are all 0.9.0-XX
The eve-ng.net front page says: "EVE-NG is the new more powerful version of our previous project UnetLab".
At http://www.routereflector.com/unetlab/ it says: "a group of guys forked UNetLab and on January 5th (2017) EVE-NG has been released to the public, but that’s another story because I’m not part of EVE-NG team." At least that date matches.
And there are no source deb packages in the repo:
So at the moment it looks to me like it's closed source

Code: Select all
# apt-get source eve-ng
Reading package lists... Done
E: Unable to find a source package for eve-ng

Re: Is EVE-ng open source?
So the question was, are you releasing EVE-ng source or not? I guess the answer is "no" then, and unetlab's BSD licence means that's a perfectly legitimate answer.
However I think you should at least release the source of your patched Linux kernel and dynamips, as those are GPL.

Re: Is EVE-ng open source?
EVE-NG PRO source, no.
Look, we had spent so much time, effort and money to create what we have.....
We started from unetlab source. Try yourself grab unetlab source and make what we did..
And we owe to no one and nothing.
