Hi Team,

I downloaded the file "fullk9-R-XRV9000-662-RRVG.tar" from below Cisco link and when I run the file "xrv9k-fullk9-x.vrr.vga-6.6.2.qcow2", it crash as per your how to on EVE-NG but 2nd time run, it ask for "username" but I can not login as userid or password is not set before.

Question:

1. Is there any default username and password (tried cisco/csico, admin/admin, lab/lab, etc)?
2. is there another way to get to its console to set the password?

https://software.cisco.com/download/hom ... ease/6.6.2

Regards,

Mathew

Hi

The question is that when we use .qcow2, it never ask to set a username and password. I guess accessing the right console is the issue here.

In the Cisco link, given in my 1st post, can you please tell me which tar file (fullk9-R-XRV9000-662-RR.tar or fullk9-R-XRV9000-662-RRVG.tar or fullk9-R-XRV9000-662-VG.tar or fullk9-R-XRV9000-662.tar) to download to use?

FYI, I only tried fullk9-R-XRV9000-662-RRVG.tar or fullk9-R-XRV9000-662-VG.tar.

I think some of the images has VGA console and that get messed up with EVE-NG serial console.

Can you please tell me which one to use?

Hi

Some progress but step 13 is not clear.

I downloaded the correct file (fullk9-R-XRV9000-662.tar) and followed successfully up to step 9 and then 10. After 10, I am not clear why we need to do that when you say "default image for further use in EVE-NG". Also do we have to do Step 13 for every new subsequent instances?

Please explain it bit more.

The new Image 6.6.2 can be stopped on step 6.
I tested it and no need steps 8-13.
After 6 go to step 14.

8-13 steps need for XR images which makes crash at first boot

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

In fact, I get the crash as shown in step 7 but after 2nd boot, I get to create user etc.
Does this means we have to follow all the steps?
If yes, do we have to do it for each XRv9k node and each LAB with XRv9k nodes?

Also I tried on 2 nodes created and I got 2 different responses for the command "opt/qemu/bin/qemu-img commit virtioa.qcow2". 1st one seems good but do we know why we get the error "Segmentation fault"?

root@eve-ng:/opt/unetlab/tmp/0/c4a09544-49eb-48b6-b724-8841c911966d/7# /opt/qemu/bin/qemu-img commit virtioa.qcow2
Image committed.

If you got crash, then yes continue the steps.

Second node whwre you got segmentation fault better rebuild it

Hi,

Thanks. It looks like we can use the file "xrv9k-fullk9-x-6.6.2.qcow2" in the main tar file straight out without building from ISO. I tested it.

Also because of the crash, we need to do the steps, including step 13 for each XRv9k node in each LAB, is there any solution in EVE-NG or anything in planning for community edition?
I think we can use a script internally to do the same when the node is XRv9k.
