Community version experience on turn up on OSX

Post by Tommiy » Sat Apr 01, 2017 2:51 am

I've down loaded the community version 2.0.3-53 (I think form memory).

I've imported the ova into fusion on my mac. When then import was finished I enabled Vtx and booted eve. When prompted I filled in the appropriate questions. When eve went to reboot it stopped and waited for 10 minutes for mysql to shut down.

"A stop job is running for Mysql community server".

Upon reboot i login as root and issue shutdown -h now and the shutdown stalls at the same place without a message from mySql. I'm assuming the same issue.

I'm currently waiting out the 10 minutes to expire not wanting to corrupt anything.

Anyone else have this issue?

had the same issue on each reboot and appears that mysql error log that its not set up properly. I've trashed my import and am trying again from scrtach to see if I get the same result from the same ova. next i'll try down loading the ova again.

Imported the ova again. Went through the eve startup questions and when it goes to reboot it stops for 10 minutes again on mysql by the looks.

The ova import does not complain of being corrupt but i'll down load again and try again.

ok the md5 hash on the ova matches so no need to download again. Guess there is some thing wrong with the ova. Time to try the iso and see if that has the same problems i suppose. If I look at the mysql error log it says that the database was not shutdown properly and that its starting recovery with 96 redo rollback segments.

and the login page does not permit admin/unl to gain entry just states that its an incorrect password.

Guess the ova is broken by the looks.

Can not seem to get rid of the 10sec delay to shutdown mysql....which obviously never shuts down by the looks. Need to look into this much more closely as it seems that there is a problem with the ova.

ok in the end a apt-get update/upgrade fixed the shutdown issue but not sure that the database issue has a a impact....will try and see i guess.

The new default password should be admin:eve. Could you please check it?

I used to solve the problem using the method described in https://askubuntu.com/questions/615129/ ... -wont-stop .

Now I replace mysql-server with percona-server-server-5.7 to solve the problem.
