Mikrotik constantly reboots - ESXI 6.0 Intel CPU with virtualization ON

Post by pandadub_lostship » Mon Nov 16, 2020 8:27 pm

Guys, I have configured some eve-ng, got some images and run all fine.

I recently setup an eve-ng in a virtualized server running Vmware ESXI 6.0, all images worked fine but Mikrotik dont.

When I open Mikrotik it constantly reboots due to boot error, I have used others Mikrotik images but all happens the same.

Any log I could look through specifically or anyone have fixed an similar issue?

Thanks

no issues at all
Just created 47.7

Maybe Intel VT-X is not enabled on your new EVE

Code: Select all

root@eve-ng:~# kvm-ok
INFO: /dev/kvm exists
KVM acceleration can be used
root@eve-ng:~#

Hi Uldis,

Actually VT-X is enabled as shown

KVM output

I have tested some qemu imagens and all work fine, unfortunately only Mikrotik seems be the issue

No idea what image you are using or how you prepared it
but this one made yesterday and works great
https://mega.nz/file/u4pxlCLD#VmzjF90EZ ... NClGjLqCgk

you must follow our how to mate...
we do not support images created by 3rd parties aka your "friends"
Iam pretty sure you simply did not what is said in our how to. Because this method works even on worst CPU and systems...
Sorry

Hi Uldis,

I got this image from own Mikrotik website, I have testes 6.46.8 and 6.47.7 CHR Version, I even got others formats than raw and coverted it.
All Mikrotik images has the same outcome, it does not boot.

I'm trying to look for any log related boot images so I can investigate it more.

I did follow how-to specified in eve-ng docs

Unfortunately it happens I want to troubleshoot it
