Sorry for the silly question but can the Free EVE Community Edition be run in a VM within ESXi?
I have a diskless ESXi node and a SAN (ZFS+SCST) and I exposed a 1TB disk via a LUN.
The installation of the Free Community Edition went fine but when I try to run some IOL images I face some problems.
Before troubleshooting I would like to check first ig my scenario is supported. I didn't not find any information/doc where it is said that is not supported hence I took for granted it was but now I wonder.
IF anyone could clarify it will be much appreciated.
TIA, Gio

First you must get up it and fix your iourc license
and NAS storage can make serious delay and performance issues

Re: Free EVE Community Edition on ESXi?
Many thanks for your reply Uldis,
the NAS is performing well and I can run an IOL instance from the command line of eve-ng node after having SSH'ed into it. I get the "Router>" prompt.
So I think that on that side everything is fine.
I asked the question because in the Cookbook I see that for the installation on ESXi just the EVE-NG Pro is referenced so I wondered whether the Free Community Edition was implicitly not supported on an ESXi host.
If you could confirm that I will be really grateful, at least I won't spend hours on something that it is not supposed to work.
TIA,
Gio
