DCE/DTE Functions on serial interfaces

hi guys,

I'm trying to configure some serial interfaces on my Cisco IOL Routers, but I noticed that despite to the "clock rate" commands applied, my routers didn't change the DCE to DTE function. Anyone know if this kind of configuration works on EVE, using this IOL L3 image? (L3-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M-15.4-2T.bin)

On virtual devuces DTE DCE is not working and no need.
All works without clockrate
