Management Cloud DHCP issue with VPC

Post by rsfdpn » Thu Dec 08, 2022 9:14 pm

Hi

Can someone please help me why: VPCS Connected to Management Cloud does not get DHCP assignments?

VPCS> dhcp
DDD
Can't find dhcp server

On eve-ng host, can ping the DHCP server, but traceroute to DHCP server only shows * (nothing).

Environment:
Hardware : CPU - Xeon D1541 (8 Cores), 128 GB RAM, 8TB HDD, 4 NICs
EVE-NG Running on ESXI (v8.0). Promiscuous mode set on vSwitch.
VT-X - Enabled

Appreciate any guidance.

Best Regards

The wonderful live help desk explained to be that VPC is very dummy node so no surprise here it's not getting IP. When using some router like IOL or LInux or something like that it works great

>> vpc works ok in the lab if you setup a router with dhcp it should pick an IP
>> but its very dumb so best thing is to avoid it

Thanks you very much eve-ng. You are the best!

Thank you very much! You are awesome.
I really appreciate your help.

VPC is very bad choice to connect in tcloud, better dont do it.
For clouds use real hosts like lunux or other nodes
