issue on VM Nokia

Post by Carole » Thu Dec 12, 2019 2:42 pm

Hi
I am running EVE-NG with 50 VM (25 VM for control plan and 25 for data plan), so totally I have 25 virtual routers Nokia and Juniper MX.
below the characteristics of my platform:
Serveur Dell PowerEdge R640
CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 5118 CPU @ 2.30GHZ
CPUs/Thread: 24/48
RAM: 192Go
OS Ubuntu LTS 16.04 Server
EVE-NG version : 2.0.3-95
QEMU version: 2.4.0

My issue is : sometimes some VM Nokia have (interface lag down) and never go up, the only way to make interface go up is to reboot the VM.
and I notice this log on the VM Nokia :
"Class IO Module : failed, reason: Failure during backdoor bus transfer"
This log let me think that we have some issue related on the fluidity of the data transfer on the internal bus eve-ng, is this can be true?
can you give us your feedback please?

Thank you,

Regards,
Carole Abboud

A bit too much nodes, your CPU count reaching 50 on lab where on CPU are only 48 threads, and that is Nokia only !!!
but you said you have junipers vMX..
Please use calculator how many cores required for your lab:
https://www.eve-ng.net/index.php/download/#CALC

Reduce abit lab, should be better.
Even your CPU consumation is showing good %, it makes no sense, your nodes start overlap CPU processes..
So your solution make smaller lab, less nodes, to stabilize your lab and nodes
And what

Hi
Thank you for your reply.
If we buy the licence EVE-NG Pro, and we apply it to our EVE-NG, will that resolve the issue?
Or the less of CPU is releated to the sever capacity?

Thank you,
