I upgraded the eve-ng community to latest version , soon after every csr1000v instance cause 27 to 33 % of cpu utilization and it was only 8 to 12% before the upgrade .
I run eve-ng on workstation 15 , hardware capabilities as workstation 12
8 cpu , 32 ram laptop ,
everything used to be fine untill I upgraded the eve-ng

I used to download from cisco the serial qcow2 version of the csr , so I though maybe this is the issue , so I downloaded the iso file and folowed the instruction step by step but at the end same result the csr still consume almost 30% , before the latest upgrade it was 8 to 15%

Yeah I did follow the steps and as I mentioned at the end the result was same , still consume average 25% per CSR router .

what CPU has your host pc where eve is installed? model? manufacturer?
probably older CPU simply does not support newer qemu versions..
you can set on csr nodes qemu 2.12.0 what was before.. olde EVE versions

Thanks for your reply , my cpu is i7-8550U 4core 8 threads , and yes I tested older qemu 2.12 and older as well as the new ones 3 and 4 , changed the number of cpus for csr and tested different RAM for eve and for csr nothing changed , as I said it was 8%ish and now 25+% , I used the ready serial.qemu from cisco and also created the qemu as per the steps here using the iso file also nothing changed .

Then it is not EVE Issue anymore, because we did change only Qemu version use for CSR
And I told what Qemu was in use for CSRs before..
Personally my 4 EVE installs after upgrade didnt change any CSR behave..
CPUs on EVEs
i7 5600U (2C/4t) VM Ware workst 15.5 EVE VM
i7 3770 (4/8) VM Ware wrkst 15.5 EVE VM
Xeon 5680 dual (12/24) Esxi 6.0 VM EVE
Bare EVE Dual E5-2650v3 (20/40) Bare EVE

By the way no one else complained about CSRs....
The New everests using new Qemu 4.1 are even faster on boot and less CPU consumption..
csr1000vng-universalk9.16.06.07.Everest

Thanks for your reply again , I had a copy of Eve-ng with previous version ( I always do backup ) , so I removed the eve-ng VM with the newest version and replaced it with the previous version , and tested 3 CSR versions (Everest , Fuji and Gebraltar) all of them consumed 6 to 12% cpu utilization , now I upgraded it again for testing and then when I tested the CSRs they gave me 25%+ utilization ..... I think i will just keep using the older version .

After upgrade it is recommended to wipe that nodes to force use new EVE qemu and settings..
but uo to you,

All other have not such issue

Yup I deleted all the labs actually , cleared the browser and added new lab and CSR , as I told you I tested all the qemu versions after the upgrade , maybe my cpu not compatible with new qemu , but when I select 2.12 or older it should work fine ..right ? but it didnt , any way thanks for your support I will just keep using the previous version until I have chance to test different cpu and such
