Connecting to EVE-NG instances ?

Hi,

I am starting to build heavy labs and I was wondering if, in VMWare WS Pro, it is possible to bypass the 64GB of RAM per VM by having 2 (or more) VMs with EVE-NG running on it and interconnect them in order to have a big lab distributed in multiple VMs ?

If so, what's the way to do it please ? Thanks

Possible but totally not recommended
for multi EVE interconnection follow attched doc, 2 separate standalone servers

But for single box (all VMs inside of one server), why do you need it,
use VM ESXi then, and set as much ram you want for your EVE

I am not very familiar with ESXi ... Isnt it sort of like an operating system of its own (with detailled hardware requirements) ?

I have a bi-processor motheboard with 2 x E5-2670 (32 vCPU total) and 96GB of RAM that I can upgrade to 128 or more.... But I am stuck to 64GB or RAM for my EVE-NG VM ...

ESXi supports al lot more for VM...
My EVE on esxi have x44 vCPU and 112GB RAM
No idea where did you get that VM is supported only 64Gb

Maybe you have not loaded ESXi license???

Ok maybe you missunderstood.... I run VMWare Workstation on my computer.... When you create a VM in VMWare Workstation , you are limited to 64GB or RAM per VM ....

Even if I create a VM that runs ESXI , it will be limited by the RAM of the host, which is the VM with 64 GB of RAM....

VM Workstation has limit 64Gb RAM per node, and not supported more
thats it..

If you want create 2-3 EVE VM and interconnect them together, use eve cookbook and read section about network and clouds...
And it is not good idea to do it on VM workstation

just curious why you on such box installed vm workstation

Because this is the software I have always used since dynamips to run virtualized labs.... And because that computer/server is my personnal computer that I use for a lot of other things including 2D/3D modeling , music...etc...

But back to ESXi.... Can ESXi be installed in Windows ?

PS: my other option was to install Orable VirtualBox but for some reasons, the installation process ends up prematuraly and I have spent an entire week trying to troubleshoot it with no results....

My answer is:
Why you are installing on such nice PC windows and after VM Workstaton with VMs???
Just why?

your box is capable simply run native esxi and then install any station you want without any limts.... cpu and ram
Sorry, but, this what you are planning will not help you or simply make all your idea as useless...
VM ware worstation is simple easy way to test some image, BUT NOT to run major/heavy virtualization tool like EVE. Small EVE up to 64Gb RAM is ok... But not seriious stuff sir
EVE itself is like ESXi software .
Double VM machines on your vm wrokstaton will simply screw up your vision what is eve and how it works
sorry

We have live eve helpdesk and chat where you can talk to me online if you like..

my chat name is: EVE-NG-UD

AND ATTENTION !!!: VBOX is not supported at all !! it does not support sublayer virtualization !!!
https://www.eve-ng.net/index.php/docume ... quirement/

ON the ESXi you can install vm station for your needs, windows, with all thing s you need for music or movies :)

Just make your decision what do you want, PC or server...!

I told VM ware has limit of 64Gb RAM per VM...
You can try interconnect with cloud interface 2 or more VM machines and simulate single lab between multi VMs...
BUT
Such crazy idea will give you super BAD performance only...

How to interconnect 2 servers I had uploaded file above..
It is all same if you would use 2 bare standalone servers
