IOL stops right after starting

Post by mikem » Thu Feb 20, 2020 1:41 pm

Hey all,

I am trying to get IOL working, but can't seem to figure it out. When I do this test at the end of the guide, it works:

Code: Select all

cd /opt/unetlab/addons/iol/bin
touch NETMAP
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/unetlab/addons/iol/lib /opt/unetlab/addons/iol/bin/<iosname.bin> 1
But, when i put a node into a topology, and start it, it stops after just a few seconds.

If i tail -f /var/log/syslog i see this:

Code: Select all

I haven't figured out anywhere else to look for errors, and googling the entries I am seeing in syslog isn't turning up anything.

if its helpful, here is the contents of my IOL/bin folder

Code: Select all

it is only your iourc file issue and fix permissions
And please avoid use such old IOL, they are usless and no more supported on eve

look in ggoge for images from year 2018

Thanks for the response. I think ultimately it was some sort of permissions issue. I had run the "/opt/unetlab/wrappers/unl_wrapper -a fixpermissions" multiple times. I had setup my addons folder as a share passed into my vm (on unraid, using 9p). Seems that just caused permissions issues of some kind, even though I ran the script. I took that out of the mix and things are working much better now. Thanks!

Is there a spot that lists the most recent/recommended image versions?
