How to choose Server or PC for EVE, what CPU?

Before posting something, READ the changelog, WATCH the videos, howto and provide following:
Your install is: Bare metal, ESXi, what CPU model, RAM, HD, what EVE version you have, output of the uname -a and any other info that might help us faster.

Hi Uldis,

We run our enviorment on Azure. 64core 256GB memory on NVMe storage. This machine auto shutsdown every evening at 6. All the engineers can spin it up when they need to test something. This keeps costs down while having a monster to run eve-ng on.

We run 66 Juniper VM's on it. We do have a bit of trouble with noisy neighbor but all in all it works. Just mentioning it as a option.

Hi Uldis,

Just asking for an advice.

2xE5-2680 V3 2.50 Ghz (2x12=24-Cores, 48-Threads)
or
2xE5-2697 V3 2.60 Ghz (2x14=28-Cores, 56-Threads)
or
2xE5-2697 V4 2.30 Ghz (2x18=36-Cores, 72-Threads)

It's v3 good enough ? Or should I get a v4 ?

Thank you so much.

Regards,
7Blue

Hi Uldis,

do you use Dell SSD or third party ssd?
are they SAS or SATA?
is SATA enough

My new server config below
PS: my server is DELL R630
dual CPU E5-2680v4 (28 physicals, 56 threads)
192GB RAM
need advise on HDD: SATA or SAS,
Dell or Third-party
Running ESXI 6.7 and till today I can carry all what I want, cleverly thinking of course.
