Tagged Traffic from EVE to my NIC

Post by Eugene1984 » Sat Apr 23, 2022 11:08 pm

Hi All,

I am currently trying to setup a lab and have hit a roadblock.
I have a basic Cisco Router (IOL) setup in my lab with 2 vlans(1 and 10). vlan 1 is network 192.168.1.0/24 and vlan 10 is 10.200.0.0/24
The cloud management is bridged to my NIC on my pc to get access to my local physical network which is network 192.168.1.0/24
I can ping my physical router and a physical firewall on the 192.168.1.0/24 no problem on vlan 1.

My physical linux machine and physical fortinet firewall also have vlan 10 created on them and have addresses on the 10.200.0.0/24 network.
However when i set the interface to 'trunk' on my Cisco Router on my Eve lab to be able to connect to vlan 10 from my EVE router to the physical devices it ain't working.

I am getting the following error on the cisco device:
*Apr 23 22:33:54.665: %SPANTREE-2-UNBLOCK_CONSIST_PORT: Unblocking Ethernet0/0 on VLAN0001. Port consistency restored.
*Apr 23 22:33:54.669: %SPANTREE-2-RECV_PVID_ERR: Received BPDU with inconsistent peer vlan id 10 on Ethernet0/0 VLAN1.
*Apr 23 22:33:54.669: %SPANTREE-2-BLOCK_PVID_LOCAL: Blocking Ethernet0/0 on VLAN0001. Inconsistent local vlan.

I am wondering if it is even possible to pass tagged traffic to my NIC on my computer from EVE?
Is there some configuration needed on my NIC for this to be possible.

I have tried the same with an extremexos switch also and get pretty much the same result. I can reach devices on vlan1 but not on vlan10.

Many Thanks for any advice on this,

Eugene
