/opt/unetlab/tmp/ Directory

Post by rustyjarz » Thu Jun 16, 2022 10:58 pm

Hi,

Was hoping to get a bit more detail and info on the /opt/unetlab/tmp/ Directory. The FAQ page says it's one of the directories to be backed up. The size of our /opt/unetlab/tmp/ directory right now is ~300GB. Looking to migrate away from EVE Pro VM to EVE Pro Bare Metal on one of our older servers, but this older server only has ~265GB total local capacity. Can this Directory be either cleaned up to reduce its size, or omitted in the migration?

Also does EVE support external storage such as FC LUN/NFS/etc? And if so do you have best practice documentation on how to implement?

Thanks.

Hi,

So our company has an EVE professional subscription, and the EVE support team can't give me any further details on this directory, and don't have any best practice guides or documentation on adding external storage to eve like Fibre Channel LUNs or NFS mounts!

TMP directory contains you lab savings, All what you did on lab is saved under tmp/[POD]/
Pod is eve user ID
To clean up this TMP you must check which old labs are not in use, and simply use web gui and wipe lab
Huge labs are which contains, Windows nodes, Cisco ISE, FTD, Palo alto, Nexus

Thank you, yes the size of this directory is quite large and is now impacting the backups of this VM as the DataStore is running out of capacity. I really need to look into how to clean-up this TMP directory for two reasons now.
