Nexus node "apparently" starts, but cannot connect to console

New to EVE BG, and having a bit of trouble with getting a NXOS node running. I hit the start button and see the Node Started notification pop up, but when I try to connect to the console I just get a connection refused error. The status report shows zero nodes running. As a new user, I have no clue as to where to start troubleshooting this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Bear in mind that Nexus 9K is very heavy node and single device require min x2CPU and 8GB RAM..
so your eve must have plenty of resources to run nx9k

Yes, I have assigned 2 CPUs and 8G RAM. The host has plenty of resources. My frustration is that I have no clear means of troubleshooting the issue given that the node doesn't start, yet it reports no issue and nothing gets logged.

Does your node starts and turns in blue?
Also what CPU you have and on what platform eve is installed
