Would be good if someone can confirm whether this is an issue with the current EVE-NG install or an Ubuntu issue on the Google VM. Even better if I get a suggested solution
I enter the following commands on the Google VM machine which has nested-ubuntu-focal installed
farouqtaj@eve-ng-2:~$ sudo -i
root@eve-ng-2:~# wget -O - https://www.eve-ng.net/focal/install-eve.sh | bash -i
I get the following issue when running the above command:
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
eve-ng : PreDepends: eve-ng-pro-guacamole (>= 2.0.3-87) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: eve-ng-pro-guacamole but it is not going to be installed
Depends: eve-ng-qemu (>= 2.0.5-24) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: python2 but it is not installable

Re: EVE-NG install on Google - packages cannot be installed
Issue fixed following some advice received suggesting its the Ubuntu build that is the cause rather than the EVE-NG install itself.
I created a new project in Google Cloud and created the nested virtualisation supported image of Ubuntu. The EVE-NG install worked after that.

But it was all described by steps in the EVE Cookbook mate....
you simply did not read it...
and version EVE 2.xxx is deprecated and terminated also from EVE repository
use EVE version 5.x
For EVE community:
https://www.eve-ng.net/index.php/docume ... -cookbook/
chapter: 3.4
For EVE Professional
https://www.eve-ng.net/index.php/docume ... -cookbook/
chapter 3.4

Re: EVE-NG install on Google - packages cannot be installed
I followed all the steps in the Cookbook. Every single one.
Something went wrong with the Ubuntu build when I cut and paste the exact command into the shell.
A more helpful person on a Discord forum went through the error messages and suggested it was the Ubuntu build. So that got me thinking and so I rebuilt the Ubuntu image.
When someone has an issue and you don't have an answer its okay to not know how to help them. Blaming the person who has an issue is just a subtle form of bullying.
I prefer to help others whenever I can rather than talk them down. But that's just me.
