EVE-NG-PRO: Arista vEOS-LAB switches have all the same MAC address

Post by kmueller68 » Thu Apr 06, 2023 3:43 pm

Hello.

We are experiencing the following strange issue with Arista vEOS-LAB images running on EVE-NG Pro versions up to latest 5.1.0-79.

When we start serveral Arista vEOS-LAB switches within a EVE-NG lab this switches get an ip address by dhcp and register themself in the Arista management system CloudVision.
We see in CloudVision that nearly all the vEOS-LAB switches show up with the exact same switch system MAC address.

Has anyone also seen such a behaviour?

Could anyone please explain in which way EVE-NG is involved in assigning a MAC address to a vEOS-LAB switch?

Thank you very much for any kind of hints.

regards
Karl
