Make it accessibile from outside the lan

Post by raikoug » Mon Mar 20, 2017 10:45 pm

Hello,
I'm pretty new in vmware, and... for me is just magic I can access my lab on pc browser while running the eve-ng on vmware.
But i would like to access my lab at work.
I already have a dns, a "server" in my house running apache, a cloud service and so on.. not so much.
Now this server has vmware with eve-ng running. How can I access my lab via "my.dns.com/dunno" ?
(I've to say that, becouse of my router, I just can't use port 80, my apache server listen to another port, becouse port 80 and 8080 is taken).

yes you can access ove ddns, but need configure home router with ddns, and redirect ddns to eve IP. EVE ip must be in home lan.
behind nat in vmware it will not be reachable

Uh, thanks.
Ok, but do i have to change vmware internal port? Because the eve web page for lab is http, port 80, 8080. But these are taken from router, if I go on raikoug.com:80 from internal the lan, it goes on router, from external it is obviously blocked.
I've to change apache2 port listening in vmware ubuntu?
Sorry for dummy question.

you have to say in the router redirect your port 80 to EVE IP. This scenario works 100%

No it didn't work in my case.
With port 80 it didn't work, I succeded changing apache 2 ports. So i can access my lab via my.dns.com:newport
even scp and ssh in the same way, changing port in vmware ubuntu 16 now I can access outside the lan.
Did it!
