do you have to always see a "network switch" between just 2 devices?

I am not a very smart person...but the only way to connect 2 devices is by adding a lil network...and then it adds more and more of those annoying lil L2 non managed switches everywhere??

On the old UNL, it wouldnt display them if it was point to point...but I cant seem to figure out how to remove them from view in EVE?
