CSR1000 works but vIOS Layer2 and Layer 3 issues

Post by wfsteady » Mon Nov 21, 2022 7:08 pm

Greetings all,
I am using EVE-NG from a VM on ESXi. When I build a lab and I want to connect devices to my external networks I make the lab and I add cloud1 and if I add some CSR1000 nodes and connect them to the cloud and start them up they get a DHCP IP Address from my firewall and then once I configure the SSH on them I can connect to them from my desktop using SecureCRT

If I try to add a Cisco VIRL Image of a Cisco IOS Router or Cisco IOS Switch and I connect them, it looks like they might be connected and it looks like they do get a dhcp IP address but when I ping them from my firewall it seems like it take about 7000ms to ping them and it is not always successful. I have found the same thing with the vIOS Layer 2 device.

For the vIOS Router image I am using vios-159-3-m4 and I have tried many different interfaces.
I am sure I am doing something wrong because I connect it to the same cloud connection that the CSR1000's are connected to and they work fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Below are the layer 3 and Layer 2 images that I have available to use for vIOS Layer2 and Layer 3 devices.

Layer 2

Thanks in Advance

VIOS images are one of the slowest known from cisco
performance is just awful, but sucj are those vIOS might be useful for non traffic labs
