Hi folks.

I'm considering buying this. May you please answer a few simple questions?

1. is this available for Windows and Linux?

2. Do in need to install a VM?

3. Besides network map creation, can I simulate network activity...
1. can I install Cisco OS's, and upload configs, and test activity results in the simulated network?
2. does it have animated packet tracing (so you can watch an animated packet bounce around the network until it is dropped or reaches its destination?)

You have to start read EVE Documentation.
EVE platform is Linux 20.04 server, but it can run either as VM on the windows. (VM Ware)
Yes you can using integrated QoS on EVE Pro links or use ostinato or similar tool

No animated cartoons, it is for kids.
Instead you can have Wireshark sessions on any link you want see activity.
Also EVE pro has graphic live traffic visualization on the link
