pfSense 2.4.x change of qemu parameters

Here you can ask EVE-NG team to add new images to the list to play in lab.

Do not ask questions like "where I can get image x or Y" in that forum

pfSense 2.4.x change of qemu parameters

Post by janegil » Sun Feb 10, 2019 8:02 pm

I tried to install a custom image of pfSense 2.4.4 as the nanobsd image is not available for 2.4.x.
With the default eve-ng pfsense qemu settings the VM freezes while showing the bootscreen/loader (before kernel is loaded).
Changing the qemu option "type=pc-1.0" to "type=pc" fixes this issue.

Any chance template defaults can be changed pr version to fix this, or for the whole pfsense-platform? Or some other smart fix?

you can easy do it your self
open pfsense template
cd /opt/unetlab/html/templates/pfsense.yml

and edit qemu line, this will be your default

P.S. in next pro release it will be fixed

Already did the fix, was hoping it would not be reverted on every update, which it seems you are taking care of.

Thanks!

Thanks in advance.
