SSH: Why 'PermitRootLogin' should be set to 'Yes' ?

Post by ongolaBoy » Fri Dec 06, 2019 6:42 am

Hi.

from the documentation on bare machine (phase 2, section 2.6) , it is said that 'PermitRootLogin' should be set to 'Yes' . Can I please know why ? I'm not confident to have this account able to connect over ssh. Can we improve it : use a group ? ssh key ?

When install is done, you could disable Permit Login on Pro edition

On Community as root access is required to launch capture, the process for using ssh keys is often too complicate for people ( using pagent etc on windows is not trivial )
