telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused

Post by darko » Tue Oct 24, 2017 2:58 pm

Hi there,

I have installed EVE on VMware vCenter Server version 6.0.0

The VM has outbound connectivity to the Internet, and I can SSH on to its management IP, and HTTP access also works correctly.

I am trying to use a Cisco ASA with IOS 917-16-k8.bin In order to do this, I followed the instructions available in the how to section.

When I try to telnet on to the IP and port I get when I hover over the ASA icon - after it has been started, I get the following error message in putty:

root@eve-ng:~# telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused

Could anyone please assist to get this issue sorted?

Thanks.

Correction on the previous post. The message is correct, but it is seen on the Putty client, and not on root@eve-ng:

Putty window: telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused

Where do those ports need be allowed? I have not seen any reference to that requirement in the documentation - apologies if I missed it.

Thanks.

I have deleted everything, including the VM, and reinstalled everything. I have managed to deploy a PA firewall, and can access it while clicking on it using VNC.

I have also imported a Cisco image, and can load and start a Cisco device. Windows integration pack has been installed following the videos.

However, when I click on the router device, after starting this node, Putty or SecureCRT do not fire up. Also, when I telnet the IP on the port of the Cisco device, still the same issue, Network connection refused.

The VM and the browser I use to access EVE are on the same subnet. There is not AV on.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello,

I have tried to access the portal available in your link several times. The username//password I used to log in to the forum do not work with the link.

How should I proceed please? Do I need to open a second account for this?

Thanks.

The error I see is User not found or incorrect password.

The user I am using is darko, and the password I am using is the one I use to access the forum.
