EVE-NG issue on ESXI

Hey all, I've been dealing with this issue for a few days now. Can't get it figured out. I am trying to install/setup EVE-NG on my ESXI server, I've tried both the .iso and .ovf version. I can't seem to get my keyboard to work in the EVE-NG CLI.. my keyboard works fine during the Ubuntu setup, and it works fine in a separate windows 7 VM. I've also tried a total of 3 keyboards. Nothing I change seems to let me type in the CLI. Some keys like cntrl+C and cntrl+z seem to register. But thats about it.

I have alot of networking experience. But not so much on the systems side, how do I troubleshoot this?
