Server Hardware purchase advise

Post by hassan2go » Mon Jan 17, 2022 12:49 pm

Dear Uldis/learners,

I am intending to build a new server and decided to follow the server hardware mentioned in cookbook.

#. CPU 2x Intel E5-2650v3 (2 x10 core)
#. RAM 128Gb
#. HDD Space 2Tb

only limitation is a suitable mother board.

Could you please suggest a suitable model or share your server config.

Thanks.

Hi Uldis,

do you use Dell SSD or third party ssd?
are they SAS or SATA?
is SATA enough

My new server config below
PS: my server is DELL R630
dual CPU E5-2680v4 (28 physicals, 56 threads)
192GB RAM
need advise on HDD: SATA or SAS,
Dell or Third-party
Running ESXI 6.7 and till today I can carry all what I want, cleverly thinking of course.
