NAT Node Lab

Post by dmitchell300 » Wed Mar 23, 2022 7:59 pm

Hello,

I setup a NAT Node in my ESXi EVE-NG deployment and have an issue. I attached a router to the NAT node and can ping out to the internet from the routers interface connected to the NAT node. However, from any other UP interface on the same router I'm not able to ping the internet but can ping IPs on my local network outside of EVE-NG. Any suggestions?

I suppose NAT node is NAT cloud on the EVE Pro?
Then all is correct, only directly connected touter to NAT cloud will ping and get access to internet, interface 172.29.129.X/24
But if you want other subnets to have internet you must configure extra nat on router which is connected to NAT cloud,
Classic CCNA NAT scenario

@Uldis (UD)
That was it thank you. I'm new to EVE but sadly not to networking. I didn't understand the NAT Cloud and what you said made perfect sense for why it wasn't working like I thought. I ran the NAT configurations on the Router and everything is working perfectly.

Thank you Uldis
