Hello,
I am getting line protocol problem with all type of images like iol/iou (l2 and l3), iosv etc. line protocol of the interface always stays up even if at another side port/interface is made shut down. One more thing i want to highlight is that even if the interface (any other unused port) is not connected to any switch. The interface line protocol always stays up.
Please help to resolve the issue.

Re: Interface Line protocol status always up problem
In a virtual environment, hardware link status is not possible.
So of course line protocol stay up... It is not a bug. You cannot simulate hardware electric signalling...
Virtualization means simulate OSI model L2 -> L7 , layer 1 is not in the scope...

Packet tracer does not have this issue. When you break your labs to see what happens you expect the L2 interface protocol status to be down when you unplug a cable or shutdown the neighbor interface.

Re: Interface Line protocol status always up problem
dont mess packet tracer with emulation, packet tracer is program where is no one real image loaded. PT is simple simulator for ICND studies.
real images like vIOS, CSRv1000, IOL no one have L1. NO ONE.
PT is nothing else like simple exe algorithm...
EVE running real images such as those are provided from vendors...
