Unable to SSH to the vmware console on Google Cloud

Hi Team,

I was trying to follow up the pro-cookbook to setup the lab environment on the google cloud platform and everything was working fine until i tried to change the mgmt IP of the console as suggested by the cookbook. After i changed the mgmt IP i was not able to connect to the vmware console either using SSH or serial connection. In addition, i tried to delete the nested-image and recreate a new vmware but it did not help. I was also trying to get support from google cloud team but was told that the change was made in the nested-image so they could not help me on that.

Please let me know how to fix this issue so i can start on updating to the pro version.

on GCP EVE management IP can be only DHCP !!!

Reset your EVE to have DHCP IP and all will be ok

hi Uldis,

Can you show me how to reset and setup the DHCP IP? Since I'm not able to access to the EVE using even serial connection so i dont know how to do that to be honest.

install new eve then..
seems you had screwed your VM totally

but IP reset you can only if you have ssh to your eve:
Q: How to reset EVE management IP settings / DNS / NTP / Root password ?
A: from the EVE cli type: rm -f /opt/ovf/.configured. Then reboot and login from cli again. Your EVE will jump to initial setup wizard.

oh man. i have tried several times to delete eve and re-create the new one but the problem still existing.

then you simply do not read HOW to..
It is tested many times, actually yesterday I had installed EVE on GCP again.
All works.
btw for EVE community the Cookbook is published.
It has all steps how to install EVE on GCP as well.

DO NOT deploy OVA in GCP, but follow exactly our how to install eve on GCP using custom ISO.

I dont know what had happened but after a few days i couldn't ssh to the eve i was finally able to ssh back to the box yesterday. Thanks for your support on this.
