Hello everyone.
Before I post my question, let me explain how is my setup for eve.
I am using EVE-NG virtual machine using VMWARE Workstation 12. Got all things running smoothly so far. I have a lab with some Cisco devices and some Servers on it (Windows and Linux).
The problem that I am experiencing is for the desktop resolution of the Virtual machine inside the EVE-NG. The only resolution available is 800x600. The guest OS does''t recognize other resolutions beside that. If I run the Linux or Windows on VMWare, I can use greater resolutions than 800x600, probably because of VMWare Guest tools.
The OS that I am currently using for my labs is the Linux Lubuntu, Tiny Core and Windows XP.
So, Is there a way to make EVE-NG understand/display the resolutions that are supported by the guest OS?
I would like to use at least 1024x768.

Re: Guest Desktop Resolution
Uldis, thanks for the reply.
What version of Windows are you using on that image ? (It appears to be Windows 7)
Did you installed the OS directly into EVE or have you imported from VMWare and converted the vmdk ?
Does that Windows installation got any VMWare client tools installed?
I tried to convert the vmdk file from my Windows XP installation, but got BSOD when I imported to EVE and tried to boot in it. So, I installed Windows XP following this tutorial:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxmYmKVQZpo&t=272s. The installation completes, but no NIC is detected by the system and the resolution stays fixed at 800x600, not giving me any option to change from it.
With Linux, (Lubuntu), I am having the same issues for video display, but at least I got the NIC recognized by the eve virtualizer.
My Windows XP version is Windows XP Professional SP3, and the the Linux version is the Lubuntu 16.10.

Re: Guest Desktop Resolution
Already tried that. Actually, I installed all OS following that video tutorial. But unfortunately the video resolution doesn't work properly. Just to make it clear, I don't have a Windows 7 installation inside my lab, only Linux Lubuntu, Linux TinyCore and Windows XP. All 3 have the desktop resolution maxed to only 800x600 using UltraVNC. I have attached the screenshot of the Lubuntu VM running inside EVE, so you guys can see what I am saying.Uldis (UD) wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2017 5:56 pmFollow this video...

Maybe only windows 7 is supported. I don't know. Really appreciate all community help.

Re: Guest Desktop Resolution
Did anyone figure this issue out? I'm having the same problem with a Ubuntu Guest VM. I can't increase the resolution past 800x600.
