The EVE-NG Licensing is based on the concurrent (parallel) sessions to EVE server. Meaning, if you want 10 users to use EVE at the same time, you must have 10 Licenses.

EVE Pro users’ consumed resources

Important part to know is that each user consumes an individual number of resources.

Example:

You have 10 users and every user is running 10 vIOS nodes per lab.

Your server resource consumption would be: 10x vIOS= 10 vCPU (threads/virtual cores) x 10 Users=100 vCPU

10x vIOS = 1024MB RAM x10= 100GB RAM

EVE Pro License roles descriptions

Administrator license

• Administrator user can manage all EVE,
• Admin can create or manage user accounts, set access time
• Admin can manage other admin accounts, set passwords
• Admin can create labs and share with others
• Admin can join in other admin or user running labs
• Admin can be Shared Project owner and member

Lab Editor license (Teacher/Corporate User)

• Editor is locked in his own folder. He does not see other user labs or folders. He can see common Shared labs folder
• Editor can create labs.
• Editor can load his labs in Shared folder for other’s use.
• Editor cannot manage other user accounts.
• Editor account can be managed by admin to set CPU or RAM quota for use.
• Editor has access to EVE labs shared folder to upload or manage labs.
• Editor can be Shared Project owner and member
• NOTE: To manage Lab Editor user account the Administrator account is required

Lab User license (Student User)

• User is locked in his own folder. He does not see other user labs or folders. He can see common Shared labs folder
• User can NOT create labs.
• User can NOT edit labs
• User cannot manage other user accounts.
• User account can be managed by admin to set CPU or RAM quota for use.
• User has access to EVE labs shared folder to run labs only.
• Administrator can create labs and folders under user account, inside of User folder and upload labs for him
• Administrator can setup to use on single lab for student, after login student is directed to single lab.
• User can be Shared Project member
• NOTE: To manage Lab User account the Administrator account is required. Administrator can create labs and subfolders under Lab User account.
