vCenter 6.5 image creation guide

Steps below are based on VM Ware vCenter 6.5 creation, for other image deployment, use proper names respectively.
1. Open or unzip VMware-VCSA-all-6.5.0-5973321.iso file to obtain VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-6.5.0.10000-5973321_OVF10.ova source file.
OVA file location in the ISO is: \VMware-VCSA-all-6.5.0-5973321\vcsa\
2. SSH to EVE and login as root, from cli and create temporary working directory abc:
mkdir abc
cd abc
3. Upload the obtained VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-6.5.0.10000-5973321_OVF10.ova image to the EVE root/abc using for example FileZilla or WinSCP.
4. Extract OVA image, for further use we will need on ISO install CD which is inside OVA.
tar xvf VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-6.5.0.10000-5973321_OVF10.ova
5. Create image working directory vcenter-6.5.0:
mkdir /opt/unetlab/addons/qemu/vcenter-6.5.0
6. Convert first 3 vmdk HDDs to the qcow2 format.
qemu-img convert -O qcow2 -c VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-6.5.0.10000-5973321_OVF10-disk1.vmdk /opt/unetlab/addons/qemu/vcenter-6.5.0/sataa.qcow2
qemu-img convert -O qcow2 -c VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-6.5.0.10000-5973321_OVF10-disk2.vmdk /opt/unetlab/addons/qemu/vcenter-6.5.0/satab.qcow2
qemu-img convert -O qcow2 -c VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-6.5.0.10000-5973321_OVF10-disk3.vmdk /opt/unetlab/addons/qemu/vcenter-6.5.0/satac.qcow2
7. Go to image directory vcentre-6.5.0 and create additional HDDs
cd /opt/unetlab/addons/qemu/vcenter-6.5.0/
qemu-img create -f qcow2 satad.qcow2 25G
qemu-img create -f qcow2 satae.qcow2 25G
qemu-img create -f qcow2 sataf.qcow2 10G
qemu-img create -f qcow2 satag.qcow2 10G
qemu-img create -f qcow2 satah.qcow2 15G
qemu-img create -f qcow2 satai.qcow2 10G
qemu-img create -f qcow2 sataj.qcow2 1G
qemu-img create -f qcow2 satak.qcow2 10G
qemu-img create -f qcow2 satal.qcow2 10G
qemu-img create -f qcow2 satam.qcow2 100G
8. Delete temporary directory abc and fix permissions
cd
rm -rf abc
/opt/unetlab/wrappers/unl_wrapper -a fixpermissions
NOTE: First time boot of image please setup root password, Give time vCenter start services till you will see https://your_vcenter_mgmt_ip:5480 using any browser login to to IP above and follow vCenter installation instruction

Steps below are based on VM Ware vCenter 7.0 creation, for other image deployment, use proper names respectively.
1. Open or unzip VMware-VCSA-all-7.0.0-15952498.iso file to obtain VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-7.0.0.10100-15952498_OVF10.ova source file.
OVA file location in the ISO is: \VMware-VCSA-all-7.0.0-15952498\vcsa\
2. SSH to EVE and login as root, from cli and create temporary working directory abc:
mkdir abc
cd abc
3. Upload the obtained VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-7.0.0.10100-15952498_OVF10.ova image to the EVE root/abc using for example FileZilla or WinSCP.
4. Extract OVA image, for further use we will need on ISO install CD which is inside OVA.
tar xvf VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-7.0.0.10100-15952498_OVF10.ova
5. Create image working directory vcenter-7.0.0:
mkdir /opt/unetlab/addons/qemu/vcenter-7.0.0-10100
6. Convert first 2 vmdk HDDs to the qcow2 format.
qemu-img convert -O qcow2 -c VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-7.0.0.10100-15952498_OVF10-disk1.vmdk /opt/unetlab/addons/qemu/vcenter-7.0.0-10100/sataa.qcow2
qemu-img convert -O qcow2 -c VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-7.0.0.10100-15952498_OVF10-disk2.vmdk /opt/unetlab/addons/qemu/vcenter-7.0.0-10100/satab.qcow2
7. Go to image directory vcentre-7.0.0-10100 and create additional HDDs
cd /opt/unetlab/addons/qemu/vcenter-7.0.0-10100/
qemu-img create -f qcow2 satac.qcow2 25G
qemu-img create -f qcow2 satad.qcow2 25G
qemu-img create -f qcow2 satae.qcow2 10G
qemu-img create -f qcow2 sataf.qcow2 10G
qemu-img create -f qcow2 satag.qcow2 15G
qemu-img create -f qcow2 satah.qcow2 10G

8. Delete temporary directory abc and fix permissions

NOTE: vCenter 7.0 setup require DNS server. please setup DNS server for vcenter lab and create proper records for vCenter IP first. First time boot of image please setup root password, Give time vCenter start services till you will see https://your_vcenter_name:5480 using any browser login to to IP above and follow vCenter installation instruction
